This afternoon Mr Oster visited us again to talk about the Cyanobacteria in the Waihopai. He showed us how to test the water clarity. That is what Lars and Toby are doing. They discovered by measuring with a tube that you would be able to see 69 to 70 centimetres ahead of you, in the water.

Persuasive Writing
Room 11 have been trying to persuade their readers about many topics of interest to them.SCHOOL UNIFORMS
School uniforms are great! In my opinion, I believe everyone and every school should have a uniform. When we see each other, we will know what school we go to.
Firstly, when we are wearing our school uniform, it helps us all feel the same.
My second point is, you are like me and I am like you.
Thirdly, everyday when I wake up in the morning, I know what to wear! But everyday when my Mum gets up, she always asks me "what should I wear?"
In conclusion, I believe that school uniforms are very important and useful for helping everyone feel great.

NO SCHOOL UNIFORMS!!!
I say no school uniforms! I currently believe that there should be no uniforms.
My first reason is that school uniforms cost lots of money and your own clothes are not as expensive. We could save that money for more shelter around the school and Wednesday pie days.
My second point is kids can express themselves by what they wear.
Lastly, it means we would get to chose our own style of dressing!!! For example, I like to wear lots of bright colours and patterns on my tops.
In conclusion, I believe we do not need a school uniform at Windsor North School. Let's show who we are!

A Trampoline Park
In my opinion, I believe that Windsor North School pupils should have a trampoline park on the back field.
These are the reasons why...
First of all, it would help keep all the kids fit! There would be safety nets all around the tramps.
Secondly, it would take the pressure off the concrete areas. It would provide another activity for kids at playtime. Kids could learn really cool tricks and teach each other. There would be people watching if someone gets hurt. There would only be three people on a tramp at one time.
Finally, it would be great exercise for the kids and it would be great fun to have on the back field.
In conclusion, I believe Windsor North School pupils should have a trampoline park on the back field.

Puss n Boots by the NZ Playhouse Theatre
On Wednesday we went to the hall to watch Puss'n Boots .There were three actors, two girls and one boy . There was a young bear called Justin Babybear. He was a famous singer who lived in the small city of Far Far Away Land...down not too far away the Hansel and Gretel show was about to start with the famous Justin Babybear. But when he was supposed to come out he wasn't there!!He had been kidnapped!!Everybody assumed it was Goldilocks because she had eaten his porridge, broken his chair and slept in his bed. But it wasn't Goldilocks because Puss'n Boots noticed that only a princess could afford two thousand million trillion pieces of gold. When Justin Babybear was found in repayment , he sang his new song Porridge.
At the end, the people from the New Zealand Playhouse came out and talked to us .There was a girl who had played Goldilocks, a man who had played as Hansel and a girl who was eighteen and played as Puss'n Boots Pet Detective.
It was an awesome show and we all loved it 😀

New Zealand Playhouse Performance - Puss n Boots
On Wednesday 1 March, the Playhouse came to school to perform Puss & Boots. It was really funny when Goldilocks said . "Watch where you are parking you clown! " It was awesome how they used other fairy tales to tell their story. My favourite character was Justin Baby Bear and Puss n Boots. It was the best show ever!

Year 4 Dictionaries
All of the Year 4 children were very lucky to receive their own dictionary from the Invercargill North Rotary Club. These will be very useful for the children to use at home. Javarn made a wonderful job of thanking our special visitors.
